The bar chart illustrates the number of international students enrolled in a second year CAD core and the Photography core, namely females and males, in the South of England.
The CAD core option appeared to be less appealing to women, especially in Germany, Spain, and Syria; meanwhile, men were the large majority in the second year CAD course, where Sweden and Spain showed a big difference between the two sexes’ preferences. The inverse pattern was observable among the Photography course students.
While the relationship between females’ and males’ choices about taking CAD as an additional degree was relatively steady in countries France and Germany, displaying a 1 to 3 ratio, Sweden, and Spain demonstrated a larger difference between the two genders, where male individuals outnumbered female students by 5 more scholars. In contrast, the woman in Syria was the only student in the second year core of computer-aided design.
Overall, the reverse trend took place in enrolling international students in the Photography core. Although the numbers were similar in three countries: France, Germany, and Spain, extrapolating from the chart, women outcompeted men with 5,6 or even 7 more people; Sweden depicted an unusually high number of females, reaching 3 times more than male students. However, Syria remained an exceptional case, elucidating no women in this field, but 1 man.
