The bar graph and pie chart compare different genders and their ages in terms of their participation in various courses at an adult education center in the evening over the 2009.
Overall, it is clear that females participated more actively than males in the evening courses at this education center, and majority of participants were 50 years of age and over.
According to the bar graph, the highest figure in attendance was language course, the number of women, about 40, was twice as high as the number of men, about 20. By contrast for language course, men were twice as many as the number of women, with 10 and 5, respectively. In painting and drama course females were also more likely to attend than males, 30 and 25, 20 and 10, in turn.
When it comes to pie chart, the largest proportion of attenders were aged 50 or above, with 42% followed by the 40-49 age group with 26%. Meanwhile, those aged 30-39 and 20-29 accounted for 16% and 11%, respectively. The youngest age group, under 20, had the lowest representation at only 5%.
