The bar chart illustrates the propotion of Australian males and females in different age groups who did physical activity on a regular basis in 2010.
Overall, the highest percentage of men and women who worked out regularly were in different age groups, with men aged 15 to 24 and women aged 45 to 54 respectively. Among most of the age groups, the percentage of female was slightly higher than male.
Specifically, between the ages of 25-64, the proportion of women who exercised frequently apparently exceeded men. And it is evident that women in their late thirties, forties, fifties and even early sixties were enthusiastic about physical activities, the percentage accounting for over 50%.
In contrast, 52.8% of men took part in physical activity regularly while only 47.7% women did so when they were between 15 to 24 years old. In the remaining age group (65 and over), there was not much difference in the percentages between men and women, both reaching aroud 47%.
