Generally, it could be obviously witnessed that the percentages of Japanese children taking part in playing computer games were the least for each age groups among the four kinds of activities.
Upon closer examination of the data, Japanese children aged 5 to 8 years old and 9 to 11 years old taking part in watching TV accounted for the largest proportion of the four types of activities within their age groups, at around 92% and 80% respectively. While Japanese children aged 12 to 16 years old participated in riding bikes the most, with just over 80% in 2018.
Furthermore, the percentages of children aged 12 to 16 years old experienced the greatest changes among the four activities, and the proportion of playing computer games was the smallest, less than half of the highest proportion. Additionally, Japanese children aged 9 to 11 years old and 12 to 16 years old had the same proportion of taking part in watching TV and reading, with 80% and about 70% respectively.
