The graphs depict the proportion of travelers from different nations to America between 1988 and 1992.
Overall, Canada, Mexico and China were the most significant sources of visitors to the US. It is also noticeable that while the percentage of tourists from China and Mexico rose, the figure for the rest of the countries witnessed the opposite trend.
In 1988, travelers from Mexico occupied a quarter of total travelers. After two years, the figure slightly declined by 5% before increasing back to above 26% in the last year. Meanwhile, the percentage of travelers from China experienced morderately growth from 10% in the first year to just under 30% in the second year and reached exactly 30% in the last year.
In contrast, standing at 53% in 1988, the proportion of visitors from Canada fell gradually by 10% in 1990, followed by a slight drop to 40% in the third year. Regarding other nations, there was a marginal downward trend over three years, from 12% in the first year to 9% in the second and finally reaching 4% by the end of the period.
