The pie charts illustrate the percentage of visitors to the USA from different countries between 1988 and 1992. Overall, Canada had the highest percentages of visitors over the given period, while the reverse was true for China. It is also clear that people who visited the USA from other countries adhered to rising trends.
Focusing on decreases first. In 1988, the figure for Canada accounted for the largest share compared to other countries at 53%, a figure that then sharply declined to 43% by 1990. At the end of the period travellers from Canada slightly dipped to 40%. The percentage of China started at 12% initially, and slightly decreased to 9% by 1990. This figure ended the period at 4%, representing the lowest value on the chart.
In contrast, visitors from other countries showed the smallest figure at 10%. After that the percentages significantly increased to 28% in 1990, a figure that then slightly rose to 30% in the next two years. Initially Mexican visitors made up a quarter of the pie chart, but this figure dropped modestly to 20% in 1990, followed by a rise to 26% in 1992
