The figures illustrate the main reasons why people of different age groups study and the amount of support (time and fees) that is received by them from employers.
Overall, it can be seen that the younger students are, the more people study for career reasons. Moreover, the trend of receiving support from employers is a decrease.
Looking first at the reason for study, the proportion of learners under 26 years old proposing a career is the highest, at 80%, while it decreases by 60% to just under 20% when they are aged over 49. Nevertheless, studying for interest witnesses the lowest proportion, with 10% for students aged under 26, but it increases seven-fold to 70% when becoming older (over 49).
For employer support, the trend is a decline, beginning at over 60% (under 26) and ending at around 45% (over 46). However, there is a fluctuation that is marked in the base bar chart at around 35% for people aged 30-39.
