The bar chart delineates the share of Australian students participating in four distinctive sports activities, separated by gender in 2010.
Overall, it is discernible from the chart that football was the most popular sport for boys, while netball was for girls. Notably, both these kinds of sport saw a considerable gap between the proportion of male and female students.
In terms of football attention, precisely 20% of boys enjoyed playing football after school, compared to only under 5% of girls. Conversely, the percentage of female students joining netball was highest among other activities, standing at nearly 20%, while the figure for opposite sex was fairly negligible at around 2%.
Regarding swimming interest, the percentage of girls was over 15%, which is slightly higher than that of boys at 13%. The shares of students loving basketball were quite similar at approximately 13% in both genders. Additionally, students who did not engage in sports were marginally lower, at about 5%.
