The chart illustrates the number of men and women teachers in six various categories of educational settings in the United Kingdom in 2010.
Overall, it is evident from the graph that except for college female teachers work more in schools than male teachers, while male teachers work more in educational institutions.
With regard to school types, females work the most in nursery and pre-school, accounting for 95%, compared to approximately 5% for males. Female tutors also share more than five times the proportion of types than male tutors working in primary school. The percentage of secondary school was slightly more by females rather than males, at 50% and 45% respectively.
Turning to educational institutions, the percentage of the university was significantly more male teachers than female teachers, constituting 70% and 25% respectively. Whereas the male teachers work slightly more in private training institutes, the female teachers show a small percentage, constituting just 45%. Again, the proportion of college accounts for around half for both sexes
