Overall, playing computer games is the common trend of children living in four countries while reading books is the least appriciate activities that children prefer to do at home.
In detail, the proportion of young people prefering playing computer games in Ireland is 60% which is the highest rate in the chart, followed by 50% of children in both Wales tend to use computer to play games. In Ireland, child’s physical activities at their home are accounted for 40%, 20% respectively in watching TV, playing board games. While there are the similar proportions of teenagers living in Ireland and Wales choosing to read books at home, just 10%. In Wales, watching TV and playing board games have the same trend, with 30%.
Regarding England, 50% of people in the age group from 11 to 16 staying at home playing games on the computer, which is double the percentage of young people engaging in playing board games. While 30%, 20% respectively are the proportion of England child join in watching TV, reading at home. In Scotland, there are similar percentages of reading and watching, with above 25%. While computer games are the most popular for Scotland kids with above 40%, just a quarter of young people playing board games.
