Overall, females spend significantly more time on household activities such as cooking, cleaning and children whereas males spend more time on gardening, pets and maintainance jobs. On average, females are spending significantly more time on household activitiesrather than males.
In a day, females spend more than 240 minutes in household chores with cooking being the highest of 74 followed by cleaning with 58 minutes. Females spend 9.5 minutes in maintenance jobs being the least. Still, they spend above 20 minutes doing gardening, caring of children and clothes activities.
For males, they spend about 150 minutes a day in household tasks which is quite less as compared to females. They spend highest time of 49.5 minutes in gardening and pet care where only 2 minutes being the least for washing, ironing and sewing clothes. They spend time between 13 and 30 for cooking, cleaning, child care and maintenance jobs.
