Overall,chinese students made up a higher percentage than Indian students in most provinces with particularly large gaps in some regions The highest proportions of both groups were recorded in British Columbia and new Brunswick while the lowest figures were generally seen in Prince Edward Island
In British Columbia, about 11% of university students were Chinese, compared to around 5% who were Indian. New Brunswick also had a high share of Chinese students at roughly 12%, whereas Indians accounted for just over 6%. A similar trend occurred in Nova Scotia, Quebec, and Yukon, where Chinese enrolment was several percentage points higher than that of Indians.
The only province where Indian students outnumbered Chinese students was Alberta, with approximately 6% compared to around 5% Chinese. In Manitoba and Ontario, the figures were relatively close, at around 6-7% for Chinese and about 4-5% for Indians.
