The population of Chinese students along many of the provinces had shown a significant number compared to Indian students where only in Alberta, the Indian population overtook the Chinese. However, in Prince Edward Island there are only Chinese students that attended the universities there in 2009.

In most of the provinces, the percentages of Indian students had shown a consistent number with only a slight difference. For example, Nova Scotia, Quebec, New Brunswick and Alberta had an average rate of 6 to 7 percent of Indian students. Whereas, in the other provinces the rate of students from India are all under 5%.

On the other hand, the rate of students from China are all greater than 4% being the lowest is at least 4.1%-4.2% in Alberta. The highest number of Chinese students are from New Brunswick with a 12% population.
