Overall, the majority in Australia and New Zealand are choosing overseas and local websites combined, with the main reason- lower price. Nevertheless, there were certain differences in shopping habits between both countries.
To begin with, in 2012, 64% of Australians preferred mixed types of websites, what is significantly higher than in New Zealand. Overseas websites became second most used for shopping in both lands, although in New Zealand this percent is considerably higher- 36%, while it is only 24% in Australia. Local websites alone became less popular with approximately similar persentage, 12% in Australia and 14% in New Zealand.
With regard to reasons, lower prices are the most common cause for both countries, 59% of Australians named this ground, compared with 51% of New Zealands.
