The charts present the trends among Australian and New Zealand people when shopping online in 2012 regarding the websites they used and their motivation. As an overview, two groups showed many similarities in that both local and international websites were mostly used while cheaper price was the main motive.
According to the pie graphs, the majority of both groups of consumers purchased products through both local and international sites, though the figure for Australian was slightly greater than that of New Zealand (72% compared to 65%). In addition, local websites were more popular than international sites in two countries. Particularly, the proportion of Australian buyers using local sites (20%) more than doubled the number for international ones (8%).
Concerning the table, lower costs compared to shopping in real-life was the main purpose of online shopping in Australia (53%) and New Zealand (57%). This was followed by convenience, which was rated by around one-fifth of shoppers in both nations. Besides, 18% of Australian consumers rated the quality of goods as their third reason, yet the data for New Zealand was moderately smaller at 16%. Other considerations represented an equal proportion for both groups at 5%.
