The four charts compare the global market percentage of the three computer operating systems, from 2012 to 2015. Looking at the illustration, it is immediately evident that Os 1 recorded the highest percentage in almost years, and the opposite was true for Os 2. Additionally most of the global computer operating systems market ratio surveyed showed the dramatic changes except for OS 1.
In 2012, “Other” operating systems dominated the global market with 48%, which was twice the share of OS 1. OS 2 ranked third with about 17%, while OS 3 held the smallest share at approximately 15%. A year later, OS 1 experienced a significant surge, increasing by roughly 18% compared to its 2012 share. This rapid growth allowed it to surpass all other operating systems on the chart. Three years later, OS 1 had firmly established itself as the market leader. Meanwhile, this period also marked the decline of the “Other” operating systems.
In 2015, after a rapid surge in OS 1 and a significant shift in the market, OS 1 reached its peak, dominating the chart with 52%. Despite experiencing major fluctuations, OS 2 and OS 3 saw slight increases. Meanwhile, the “Other” operating systems, which once held the highest market share, had steadily declined over five years, dropping to just 15%.
