The maps illustrate the changes that occurred at a local museum and its surrounding area between 1957 and 2007.
Overall, when comparing the two maps, it is evident that the museum building has been expanded with many additional facilities. However, the green area has significantly decreased over the past 50 years.
In 1957, there were numerous trees in front of the museum, behind it, and to its left. By 2007, the number of trees had diminished significantly, with only a few remaining on the northwest side. Additionally, the National History Gallery was converted into a local history room. Meanwhile, the main entrance, which was formerly the local history room, was relocated to the left, and the previous entrance was replaced with a reception desk and a cafe.
Another notable change is the expansion of the building itself. In 1957, the museum comprised only three rooms: the museum gallery on the left, the local history room on the right, and the national history room on the top. However, by 2007, the museum had expanded to a total of five rooms, adding a special exhibition area on the left and an education center on the right at the top.
Furthermore, a museum shop was established on the left side adjacent to the garden. The main road and all the trees on the fifth side were removed to make way for a parking lot. In summary, the museum building has undergone significant expansion and modernization.
