The diagram illustrates the process of producing pulp and paper. / The diagram shows how pulp and paper are produced.
Overall, there are several stages in the process, from the initial preparation of wood to the final production of either rough paper or refined paper.
First of all, trees are chopped down so that the logs can be collected. After that, the logs undergo a chipping process, and the resulting wood chips, together with any purchased chips, are cooked with chemicals in a digester to produce pulp. The mixture of pulp is then put into washers to eliminate unwanted dust and dirt. After being washed, the pulp is passed through a screening machine to remove any remaining large particles. Subsequently, the pulp is subjected to a cleaning process to remove impurities before being transferred to the next stages of paper production.
Once the pulp has been thoroughly cleaned, it is directed to two separate production lines. In the first line, the pulp is formed, dried, rolled and cut into bales to make rough paper for boxes. In the second line, it is further cleaned, pressed and dried to create refined paper, which is eventually rolled into large sheets for printing purposes.
