The diagram illustrates the process of shaping glass containers.
Overall, it is a nine stage automated linear process, during which glass undergoes mechanical and temperature treatment to be turned into glass containers. The majority of the process involves automated machines, except for the last stage.
The initial step involve melting the glass in a furnace at a high temperature of 105C and then hot glass pressed in the mould 1. Once it is poured into the first mould, the same machine is used to press and give a shape of glass. In this stage, air is included inside the glass to form thick wall.
The process goes through a kiln, where the glass is heated to 482C. Then, in cooling machine the temperature decreases to 25C and it is left for about 60 minutes. The final process, where finished product is checked manually by workers to separate glasses into two sections, waste or ready for use by packaging in paper boxes.
