The diagram illustrates the comparison of development in Bridgetown between 1700 and 2000.

In 1700, a river runs through the town from northeast to southwest. A main road with a bridge are constructed across the river. A farmland is located at the right side of the river, where a market place is situated at the upper left side of the river. A castle is built on the right side of the market place, with a wood accompanying it on the northeast end of the market.

In 2000, a bypass road is constructed to the south of the main road. A rail line is built and cross the market place and the river. The castle has been reconstructed to a school where the location of the wool land has been adjusted.

Overall, a railway, main road, and bypass road are contructed to cross the river, where the railway built to the north and the bypass to the south of the bridge after 1700. The castle has been rebuilt to become a school.
