The first line graph gives information about the number of train travelers between 2000 and 2009, while the second one illustrates the percentage of punctual trains compared to the desired standard.
Overall, a discernible upward trend was observed in the number of train passengers during the given period. Notably, the performance of trains fell below the expectations in most of the surveyed period.
Looking first at the figure for train travelers, initially, it stood at nearly 40 billion, which then witnessed a significant fluctuation, hitting its peak at nearly 50 billion people in 2005. Thereafter, it experienced a noticeable drop to 40 billion in 2008 before ending at about 45 billion in 2009.
Regarding the second graph, a constant target of 95% was set throughout the period. In 2000, only 92% of trains were on time, below the target by 3%. Subsequent years saw a considerable improvement in the performance, surpassing the 95% standard from 2002 to 2004. Afterward, the percentage of trains running punctually fell dramatically, reaching its initial level in 2006 before rising considerably during the remaining period. In 2008, the figure peaked above the standard line by 2% and was maintained at this rate at the end of the period.
