The line chart illustrates the changes in the amounts of beef, lamb, chicken and fish consumed by people in a particular European region during 25 years.
Overall, it is clearly seen in the chart that the graph shows how the consumption of chicken increased dramatically to the top, while the popularity of these other foods decreased over the period.
To be more specific, in 1979 beef was by far the most popular of these foods with the highest consumption at around 220 grams per person per week, which was 70 grams higher than lamb. However, in the following 25 years, both figures dropped sharply until 2004 they felt 120 grams and 70 grams respectively. Similarly, there was a decline found in fish consumption much less significantly which remained just over 50 grams.
On the other hand, quite differently, the consumption of chicken, showed an upward trend, though it was less than that of lamb at 140 grams in 1979. Overtaking that of lamb in 1980 and that of beef in 1989. By 2004, it had soared to the peak of 250 grams per person per week.
