The graph illustrates the figures of consuming seafood as well as several kinds of meat in Europe during the 25 years period. Overall, all figures decreased lower and lower every year except the chicken that rose up. Furthermore, the number of Europeans who consumed chicken was the highest in contrast to fish which stood last.
In 1979, beef accounted for the highest number of consumption which stood at over 200 grams per person per week but after which witnessed a significant drop by approximately 30 grams in 1981. In the next 2 years, the number increased dramatically at nearly 250 grams as well as it plummeted sharply to roughly 120 grams by the end of the period. The number of lamb eaten also declined dramatically which began at 150 grams and ended at 60 grams.
Chicken stood just below the lamb then rose sharply and eventually chicken was the most eaten by 2004. However, fish was the lowest consumed but the level of consumption remained stable to roughly 50 grams.
