The graph provides information about the number of books read at Starmouth School library from 2009 to 2012. It shows how many books were read by female and male students over this four-year period.
Overall, it is obvious that there was an upward trend in the number of books read by girls. While boys read more books than girls in 2009, their reading fell to below the level of girls in 2012.
From the line graph, there were different trends for boys and girls. The number of books read by girls increased slightly between 2009 and 2010, from about 25 to 40 number of books read. After that, the numbers rose significantly to 140 books in 2012. This was the highest figure in the period.
On the other hand, boys started off reading more books than girls, but their numbers followed a different pattern. From 2009 to 2010, there was an increase to 100 books in 2011. However, in 2012, their numbers went down back to 80 numbers of books read again.
