The graph illustrates the per consumption of two products – butter and margarine – in United States between 1980 and 2020.
Overall, provided information shows massive difference between margarine and butter over 40 years. We can clearly see downward trend for margarine use, it dramatically fell, while simultaneously butter steadily grew up.
While margarine in 1980 started from almost 11 per person, butter was lowest around 5 product per person. On the other hand, in the last year margarine achieved 2, when butter considerably recovered. There was noticeable plunged of margarine consumption of all years, whereas butter in 1990 gradually increased reaching approximately 6. Additionally, in 2010 and 2020 per capita consumption of margarine considerably dropped to the lowest amount of 2. The graph definitely shows that margarine explicitly lost popularity in United States between 1980 and 2020. Conversely, butter became much more willing to be consumed between 1990 and 2020, reached higher amount than margarine in that period of time.
