The line graph illustrates the percentages of people aged 65 and over from 1940 to 2040 in the USA, Sweden, and Japan.
Overall, it can be seen that all nation’s ratios experienced some fluctuations. Japan will have the highest proportion in the end, while initially it was third place.
To begin, in 1940, the largest percentage was the USA, which accounted for less than 10%. Then, it increased slowly for 20 years. In contrast, Japan stood at 5% and Sweden amounted to about 7 %. Japan’s ratio of population aged 65 and over decreased steadily before 1960, while the second country’s proportion grew until 1980. There was a slow reduction in USA and Sweden, whereas in the third nation, there was a stable period.
Turning to 2000, the First nation’s percentages did not change, however, others saw rapid increases. It was predicted that after 2020 Japan’s proportion will climb up dramatically, and will be peacked at over 25%. Other percentages will grow too in 2040.
