The table compares the amounts of Qatari import totals for five different vegetables between 1980 and 2020. Units are measured in tons.
Overall, it is clear that the rising trends were observed in the figures for Broccoli, garlic, peas and ginger while the opposite was true for spinach whose figure decreased. It is also noticeable that Spinach was dominant vegetable in the table for almost all given years.
Focusing on the highest figures, spinach was imported in the largest amounts in the given years despite a gradual reduction from 500 to 350. In 2020, spinach’s dominance was overtaken by garlic which stood at 400. Broccoli and garlic experienced the same increase by 100 from 200 and 300 respectively.
Peas and ginger also saw similar growth over the given years, albeit minimally. For the three decades, the amount of imported peas levelled off at 150 and there was a little change of 20 till the end of the period. Similarly, ginger started to grow and reached a peak of 310 in 2000, after which, there was a drop to 260 by the end of the period.
