The line graph depicts the variations in the proportion of people on the Internet throughout 1999 to 2009 in three countries; USA, Canada, Mexico.
In the year 1999, USA started on top, having the most percentage of population as Internet users – approximately 20%. Juxtaposing the USA was Mexico, contributing the least of the population to the Internet with a mere figure of roughly five percent. Canada had an initial percentage of around 10% in 1999. All three countries gradually rose at their own respective rates and maintained the same order until 2002 when Canada overtook USA with a sharp rise since mid 2001. Then all countries resumed increasing until mid 2005 when USA and Canada held the same proportion of Internet users once again. However, the USA failed to surpass Canada in this time period as it had a decreasing increase rate, unlike Canada which started another increasing rateincreasing increase rate in proportion. This order remained the same until the end of the year 2009.
Overall, Canada overtook the USA and Germany remained the last. All countries experienced a rise in the proportion of Internet users regardless, hinting at the increasing integrality the Internet begins to possess especially in recent days.
