The graph illustrates the average number of foods and cakes sold on Saturday by two different bakeries, namely Lovely Loaves and Bernie’s Buns, in London, in 2010.
Generally, doughnuts were by far the most widely sold food among consumers in both stores, while the opposite was true for Lovely Loaves’ toasted sandwich, compared to the sales of salads in Bernie’s Buns. In addition, the greatest disparity between the two bakeries was found as regards the sales of cookies and salads.
Regarding Bernie’s Buns, doughnuts were the most popular items, with more than 135 items sold on Saturday, followed by the sales of cookies and cakes, with approximately 115 and 100 items, respectively. While toasted sandwiches and salads were nowhere near the best-sellers, selling only 25 and 18 items in turn, the number of fresh loaves sold was two times higher, with 40 items sold on Saturday.
As shown, the number of doughnuts sold on Saturday in Lovely Loaves was the highest of all eight items, having sold 120 items, while toasted sandwiches were the least popular purchase, with just about 20 items. Additionally, the sales of salads, cookies, and cakes were similar, ranging from around 60 to 75 items each. By comparison, the number of rolls, fresh loaves, and crisps sold each averaged 50.
