The comparison of number of visitors between four museums (Louvre, London Science Museum, Vatican Museum, and Shenzhen Museum) is illustrated in this line chart, comparing figures in a 35-year period. Generally, Vatican Museum has dramatic rise unlike the other three which have only slight changes over the timeframe.
With the gradual increase of visitors every 5 years, Vatican shows the most significant change within 35 years compared to the other three. The figures nearly reached 10 million visitors in 2015, nearly twice the initial amount in 1980. Given the fact, Louvre maintained the position as the museum with the highest number of visitors over the 35 years, having a slight difference of number of visitors compared to that of Vatican Museums in 2015.
On the other hand, the other three museums show slight changes over time. Louvre’s visitors marginally rose by approximately 1 million from 1980 to 1995 but faced a slight drop in 1995, which was followed by a rebound to nearly 10 million visitors in 2015, maintaining the position of highest number of visitors over the 35 years. London Science Museum saw a constant downtrend from 1985 onwards, while Shenzhen Museum steady trend throughout the period.
