The chart presents the portion of graduates that obtained full-time jobs after finishing their degree from a university in Australia, and the median earnings of both these types of graduates, from 2004 to 2012.
Overall, the ratio of graduates was fluctuating throughout the years. Meanwhile, for their salary they both started at the same amount but one had higher pay after a few years.
Starting with students who took Math as their major, at the start of the year they had the highest number of workers. As years have passed it only increased a bit and it fluctuated throughout the years. Meanwhile, other graduates who had the lesser portion surpassed the Math graduates in the year 2006 and they both met their break-even in 2008; although both groups declined, they did not go below 50%.
As they had their full-time jobs, both of their salaries started at the same amount, and after two years both groups had a raise which both reached an average salary of $43,000. However, in the year 2008, Math graduates received a huge raise; however their raise was unpredictable as years have gone by. Moreover, the other graduates had a stable raise for every 2 years.
