The given line graph depicts the comparison between the number of male and female smokers in Bhutan from 1960 to 2000. It is clear from a cursory glance that the rate of male smokers has fallen gradually over the period and rate of female smokers had a significant raise until 1975 with a gradual fall over the time.
Overall the rate of both male and female smokers declined gradually, in 1960, 60% of the male population were smokers whereas only 5% of women who smoked were present at that time. Ratio of men who smoked had a noticeable fall from 1980 but in case of Women’s it escalated and peaked at the year 1975 with 400 out of 1000 female smokers in Bhutan.
Initially the gap between men and women who smoked was huge but over the time the percentage of both who smoked was almost the same, In the year 2000 only 2 out of 10 women and 3 out of 10 men were had the habit of smoking in Bhutan.
