The diagram depicts the proportion of people using the internet in three different nations, namely the USA, Canada and Mexico with a 2-year span, starting from 1999.
All three countries have an increasing trend in Internet users. While the USA and Canada are slightly similar in the number of people accessing the internet, it could be said that Mexico has a lower percentage than the two other countries.
In 1999, there were about 25% of people surfing the internet in the USA, whereas that figure in Canada was 10%. The number of people accessing the internet increased rapidly in both the USA and Canada, and they shared the same figure in 2002 and 2005. Although, over a decade, the percentage of Internet Users fluctuated in Canada, it ended up higher in percentage, which was 100%. Ultimately, in 2009, there were 80% of the population using the internet.
Different from the 2 other countries, the number in Mexico only fluctuated slightly. Starting in 1999 with less than 10% of Mexicans using the internet, it finished at 40% in 2009, which is less than that of the USA and Canada.
