The line graph depicts the number of video game copies purchased from four game retailers in the first four months of 2014, while the pie chart shows the proportion of the top five best-selling games over the same period.
In general, Cyberium was the only store that witnessed a consistent growth in sales, with Bioshock Infinite being the most popular video game.
In four months, both Ubihard and GameStop’s game copy sales have steadily decreased. While Ubihard’s sales fell from 2800 in January to barely more than 1300 in April, GameStop’s dropped from 2600 to 1100 in the same time period. Cyberium sales, on the other hand, followed a completely opposite pattern. 1700 game copies were acquired from Cyberium in January 2014. This number soared to 3000 in March and continued to rise the following month. Meanwhile, IGN had the lowest sales, which remained slightly stable at 1,000.
As shown in the graph, Bioshock Infinite was the best-selling title, accounting for 30% of total sales. Pokemon Platinum came in second, accounting for 28% of total sales. Assassin’s Creed Unity and Far Cry 3 have sales percentages that are only half that of the two leading games, with 15% and 14% respectively. Other games represented 13% of total sales.
