The two maps compare a coal mining site which was in the past and after reconstruction. Overall, the place underwent a complete transformation to entertainment area, with knocking down most of the buildings. It is also clear that, the majority of the places were established for recreational purposes.
Looking back, the area was much for working purposes with a large two waste tips and buildings for conditions of workers, but during the time, the place saw a number of significant changes. The most noticeable is that every waste tip on the right side of the area was demolished to construct picnic area in the center, digger driving track in the north and playground in the bottom side. Moreover, museum was built, which resulted in the disappearance of office and staff changing room in the west side of the area .
In contrast, only car park and entrance for underground mine were remained intact, however, the entry is now used for visitors which was for employees in the past. Further developments were, a souvenir shop in the south, which was previously occupied by a lorry park, medical room in the center was replaced by café. Other alterations included the introduction of footpath next to souvenir shop.
