The two maps illustrate the current layout of an industrial area in the town of Norbiton and a proposed future development plan for the same site.
Overall, the most notable change is the transformation of the industrial area, with all existing factories being replaced by residential housing. While the central roundabout remains in place, several new roads, houses, and facilities are planned, reflecting a shift from an industrial to a residential zone.
Currently, there are eight factories surrounding a central roundabout, with two roads connected to it—one heading south and the other east. A river flows to the north of the area, separating the town from farmland.
According to the proposed development, a road will be constructed to the north across the river, leading to a new housing area. Two additional roads will also be built—one in the northwest and another in the southern part of the site. On both the western and eastern sides of the roundabout, three sets of housing units are planned. Moreover, new shops and a medical centre are to be added beside the roundabout, and to the east, a school and a playground will be constructed.
