The two maps show the current Norbiton industrial area and its planned future development. Overall, the area will be transformed, with new housing, shops, a school, and a bridge over the river.
At present, the Norbiton industrial area mainly has factories to the east of the main circular road. A river flows along the northern side, and the farmland lies beyond the river, but there is no bridge connecting the two. Currently, there are only roads and factories, with no other facilities.
In the future, the plan includes many new developments. The factories will be replaced by housing, and a bridge will be built over the river to connect the area to the farmland. In addition, shops will be added to the west of the circle, and a medical centre will be built to the south. A school and a playground will also be constructed near the new housing on the east side. Furthermore, a smaller roundabout will be added to the south to improve road connections.
In summary, the planned development will turn the industrial area into a residential zone with more facilities for the community.
