The maps illustrate the transformation of an art gallery from 2005 to the present.
Overall, it is apparent that the art gallery has undergone significant renovations, with the introduction of a ramp and a lift to enhance accessibility for visitors, particularly those with mobility challenges. Another notable change is that recreational facilities have been established, while the right-hand side has remained intact with a series of exhibition rooms.
The previous design of the art gallery primarily focused on exhibition purposes. The entrance was located at the bottom of the map, which visitors went through to a large entrance hall. In the middle, there was a reception desk placed below a staircase at the top. On the left-hand side, there was a top-corner cafe , a gallery office and Exhibition Room 4, respectively opposite to three exhibition rooms along the right-hand side.
In terms of the present layout, the gallery has experienced substantial modernization by the addition of commercial services and improving accessibility arounf the gallery. After passing the entrance and the reception desk, visitors now see a lift installed next to the former staircase. Another key feature is the construction of a ramp for wheelchairs, catering for better access among the disabled. Although the right-hand side amenities have remained unchanged used for exhibition function, the left-hand side has seen a considerable shift. Specifically, the cafe has been demolished to pave the way a gallery shop, while the adjacent area now hosts a vending machine facility. Additionally, Exhibition Room 4 has been divided into two areas including a temporary exhibition and a children’s area, whereas Exhibition Rooms 1, 2, and 3 have remained unchanged.
