The maps show how the seaside resort of Templeton changed between 2000 and 2013.
Overall, the town became much more developed over the period. The main changes were the expansion of residential areas, the addition of new commercial and industrial facilities, and improvements to transport services, while some features such as the school, hospital and railway station remained unchanged.
In the northern part of Templeton, the number of houses increased considerably. New homes were built around the lake and near the school and hospital. However, these two public buildings stayed in the same locations throughout the period. The bridges crossing the river also remained unchanged.
More dramatic developments took place in the southern area. The existing blocks of flats were expanded significantly, and a supermarket was constructed nearby. In addition, a factory was built on the eastern side of the river, replacing an area of open land. Another notable change was the introduction of a ferry service along the coast. By contrast, the railway station did not experience any major changes.
