Regarding the two sides of the entrance, which is located in the southern side of the art gallery, leading directly to the scuplture displays in the open area in the center of the art gallery. Looking at the left hand side of the entrance, people could see a bookshop situated in the bottom left corner of the art gallery. Moreover, the Middle European Art was opposite the Temporary Exhibition and the Early European Art was next to it to the right. In these day, the location of them is still unchanged.

At the back of the building, there was a courtyard facing the entrance in the year 1950. Over the years, it is repurposed to make space for three new areas, including Children Art school, Australian Aboriginal Art and Australian Art, arranged from left to right.
