The given pictures illustrate the way in which Liverton docks constructed and developed for urbanizable purposes from 1980 to present.
Looking at the illustration, it is immediately evident that some old features were still there, whereas the others such as the cranes or all the ships had all gone. Additionally, over the period, Liverton docks had undergone dramatic transformation with several large changes including infrastructure, housing areas and amenities.
In 1980, Liverton docks was mostly an area for work and transport. There were three big warehouses: two on the north side of the river and one on the south side. Many ships were parked along both sides of the river, showing that the docks were quite busy. Two tall cranes stood near the river to help move goods on and off the ships. The whole area looked like it was only for industry. There were no houses, shops, or places for fun nearby.
Today, Liverton docks has changed a lot compared to 1980. All the ships and cranes have been removed, and the old warehouses have been replaced or converted. The warehouse on the south side has been turned into a hotel and apartments, while one of the warehouses on the north side has become an education centre. A sailing club and a kid’s playing area have been built in the same area. There is also a ship museum on the river, and a new bridge has been added, leading to a flood barrier near the coast. On the south side, a parking lot and a walking path have been created.
