Dear Mr and Mrs Collins,
Hope this letter findes you in great health. I’m writing this letter to thank you for your consideration. I suspect that Chris has had a major depression episode for the last couple of months, and I believe that this surprise birthday party will cheer him up. He loves both of you very much, and speaks very highly of you.
Although I loved to visit Australia, unfortunately, I must stay in London at that time to help my mother with her chemotherapy sessions. She has been diagnosed with breast cancer, and she is very fragile at this moment. I cannot leave her to my brother, because he is very busy with his kids.
To pay my respect and compensate for my absence, I would love to pay a visit to you guys in February. I have received a tempting job position from a well-known company based in Sidney. I should prepare for an in-person interview by then, and I will be visiting you and Chris when I arrive.
Once again, thank you for your kind invitation. Hope to see you soon.
Best regards,
