The maps illustrate the layout of a museum in 1998 as well as the changes that were made by 2008.
Overall, it is clear that the museum underwent significant modernization during this period, The most notable developments were the construction of a restaurant, the relocation of some rooms, and improvements made to the garden area.
In 1998, visitors entered the museum through the central ticket office. To the left of the entrance there was a temporary exhibition room, while to the right of entrance, a shop was located next to the WC and the bags and coats area. The central part of the museum was built a garden as well as there was a café on the garden top. The many buildings were surrounding permanent exhibition rooms.
By 2008, the layout had been altered considerably. A restaurant was introduced in the upper left corner, while the café remained above the garden, now accompanied by a café sitting area. The WC was moved to the top-right corner of the museum, replacing its previous location. In addition, the bags and coats area was relocated to the bottom left corner, and the shop was shifted slightly towards the centre. The garden itself was also modernised, with fountains and a designated sitting space added, making it a more attractive feature for visitors.
The permanent exhibition room occupied 1/3 of the entire space.
