These pie chart gives information about how many people imprisoned in the UK between 2015 and 2020 as well as the bar chart illustrates why people were detention.
Overall, what stand out from the pie charts is that the majority of males arrested than females. Moreover, it is clear that the percentage of public intoxication which was committed was the largest.
Looking at the details, the proportion of males arrested was much greater than for females, 32% were arrested compared to only 9% for women. Turning to the reasons, there were some differences between men and women. Men were more likely to be arrested for drink driving than women, at about 22% and 14% respectively. Moreover, breaking and entering, theft and other offences were higher for men than women, with approximately 18%, 14% and 19% in turn. For females, breaking and entering and theft were on the same level, with 11%, while others roughly 18%.
As for reasons for women’s arrest, they experienced a higher percentage of arrest rates for public intoxication and assault. The figures for assault were fairly similar at approximately 17%, whereas public intoxication represented main reason to detention for both genders, with females 38% and 31% compared to males.
