The given chart illustrates what young people chose to do after finishing secondary school in three years (1980,1990,2000).
In 1980, half of the passouts(50%) continued in their further education, which was the highest in 1980, whereas the lowest was 10% for being unemployed and 40% were employed.
In 1990, the number of employed passouts started to increase and reached 50% leaving the further education takers behind in 38% respectively. The number of unemployed was still least with 12%. Following that, 2000 also had similar digits with the students being employed witnessed the highest from others years covering 55% of the chart and trailed by students choosing further education with 37%, meanwhile the unemployed school finishers also went down to 8% which was the lowest recorded of all three years.
Overall, it is clear that the percentage of students choosing further education after completing secondary school went down gradually over the years while the employed rate went up, whereas, the unemployed witnessed a small increase in its rate but went down and recorded the lowest among all data.
