In contrast, the figures for seniors will grow in both Brazil and Germany between 2000 and 2050. The former will climb from 5% to 13%, and the latter will surge from 22% to an overwhelming 40%.
The age distribution of adults in both populations was initially around 65% in both countries in 2000, making it the highest share of the population. The proportion of adults in Brazil is projected to further increase to 70%, whereas for Germany it is predicted to fall to 48% by 2050.
