Overall, the period given saw a slight rise in both snack and sodas, which represented the highest percentage in all years, fruits and vegetables. In contrast, the proportion of bread, cereal and rice declined gently. A similar pattern was observed in meat and fish, and also in dairy products.
From 2000 to 2010, there was a 4% increase in snacks and sodas, rising from 31 to 35 percent. Similarly, the share of fruits and vegetables increased marginally from 17% to just under a fifth. Conversely, the percentage of both bread, cereal and rice and dairy products dropped by 1%, stood at 14% and 10%, respectively, in 2010. Likewise, the rate of meat and fish fell from just over a quarter of the total to 22%.
From 2010 to 2020, 1% rise was observed in both snacks and sodas and fruits and vegetables, finishing at around 36% and 20%, respectively. The period saw a stable proportions in both dairy products and meat and fish, leveling off at one in ten and 22%, respectively. As for the slice of bread, cereal and rice, the figure decreased to 13% by 2020.
