The pie charts provide the data on the proportion of volunteers in five different kinds of organizations in the two years : 2008 and 2014. Overall, the proportion of volunteers in the nearly all organizations, namely environmental, sport, and healthcare increased noticeably over the six-year period, whereas the reverse was true for others. While education was the organization with working the most volunteers initially, there was significant shifts towards enviromental over the given period.
In 2008, nearly a quarter of the total of volunteers worked in educational organization. It was the dominant category in the diagram – 3% higher than that of the second ranked organization, enviromental. Art had relatively lower figures, at 18%, while the 30% of volunteers worked worked in sport and other organizations, with the distribution of 15% to each one. Healthcare, meanwhile, made up the least fraction of the total volunteers, standing at a mere of 7%
In the following six years, the percentage of volunteers in environmental organizations increased by 8%, making it the leading organization. Similarly, there was a dramatic rise in the figure for sport, reaching a peak of 25%, while the figure for health care had saw a growth of 1% by 2014. In contrast, the percentage of employees in art and educational organizations, who worked without salary, experienced downward trend, reaching 12% and 17% respectively.
