The maps describe the transformation of a natural history museums from 2010 to 2013. Overall, the history museum has become more diverse and accessible to visitors due to the introduction of a range of new facilities. It is also clear that the majority of changes took place to the right side of the museum whereas the left side did not undergo major changes.
Focusing on the 2010 plan, access was from the bottom, with a garden to the right and the ticket desk to the left. There was also the lobby behind which was the ocean hall. The Mammals area was located in the north-western corner of the museum, while the Dinosaur hall was situated in the south-west side near the entrance area.
By 2013, the museum has experienced significant changes. Except for the Ice Age exhibition and Insects area, the left wing of the histiry museum remained almost the same, while the garden made way for new buildings including human origins display, shop and cafe. Final alternation was the relocation of Mammals from the left to the right side of the museum.
