The two maps show the transformation of a Natural History Museum between 2010 and 2013. Overall, the Natural History Museum has become more diverse and visitor-friendly with the introduction of a range of new facilities. It is also clear that the majority of the changes took place to the right side of the Museum while the central part of the map remained intact.
Focusing on the 2010 plan, access was from the bottom, with the Ticket Desk to the left and the Ocean Hall is located opposite. While the Mammals and Dinosaur Hall Rooms were located to the left side of the Museum, the garden was on the other side.
Since then, the Natural History Museum experienced significant changes. The entrance area and the central part of the Museum remained almost the same, while the Mammals Room made way for Ice Age Exhibition and Insect Rooms and it was relocated from north-west to north-east. Also, where the Garden Stood, there are now the Human Origins Display, Café, and a Shop.
